Appalling Facts about our Earth’s Diminishing Water Resources

Arctic Blue Waters have been researching into our Earths diminishing water supply and the alarming impact it has on today’s world and how it will have for our future generation unless something is done soon.

War, famine, mass extinctions and catastrophic plagues will happen unless some kind of miraculous solution is found to the world's rapidly growing water crisis.

It is expected that by the year 2030, the global demand for water will exceed the global supply of water by an astonishing 40 percent according to one very disturbing American government report. As you are reading this blog, lakes, rivers, streams and aquifers are slowly continually drying up all over the planet.

The lack of global water could potentially be enough to bring about a worldwide economic collapse all by itself if nothing is done because no society can survive without water. Just imagine trying to live one day without using any water. You will quickly begin to understand how difficult it is. Fresh water is the single most important natural resource on the planet, and we are very quickly running out of it.
Arctic Blue Waters after having read several articles have found 25 alarming facts about the Earth's dwindling water resources that everyone should be aware of.

1 At this moment, 1.6 billion people are living in areas of the world that are facing total water shortage
2 Global water use has quadrupled over the past 100 years and are continuing to rise quickly.
3 A recent study found that a third of all global corn crops are facing water tension.
4 A child will die from a water-related disease every second.
5 By 2025, at least two-thirds of the population of our planet will be living with water shortages.
6 Due to a lack of water, Chinese food imports now require more land than the whole of California State.
7 At this moment in time the amount of water that China imports is considerably larger than the amount of oil that the United States imports.
8 Approximate 80% of the major rivers in China have become so polluted that they no longer hold any aquatic life at all.
9 The Great Lakes of North America hold about 21% of the total supply of fresh water in the entire world, but President Barack Obama is authorising water from those lakes to be drained, bottled and shipped to China at an alarming speed.
10 It is being estimated that India will for all intents and purposes run out of water by 2050.
11 It has been gauged that at least 75% of all surface water in India has been substantially contaminated by human or agricultural waste.
12 In the Middle East, the continuous stream of water in the Jordan River is down to only 2% of its historic rate.
13 Due to a lack of water, Saudi Arabia has in essence thrown in the towel in trying to grow wheat and will become a 100% reliant on wheat imports by 2016.
14 Out of the 60 million people added to the major cities of the world every year, the vast majority of them live in deeply deprived areas that have no sanitation facilities at all.
15 Nearly the whole of the south western parts of the United States is experiencing drought conditions. It has been this way for the majority of the past few years.
16 It is in part that due to the seemingly endless drought, the price guide for meat, poultry, fish, and eggs in the United States has just hit a new all-time high.
17 As underground aquifers are relentlessly drained in California, in some areas of the San Joaquin Valley it has been reported are sinking by 11 inches a year.
18 It is being anticipated that Lake Mead has a 50% of running dry by the year 2025.
19 Most Americans don't comprehend this, but the once great Colorado River has dwindled so much that it can no longer run all the way to the ocean.
20 According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a volume equivalent to 2/3 of the water in Lake Erie has been permanently drained from the Ogallala Aquifer since 1940 and it is at present being drained at a rate of approximately 800 gallons per minute.
21 There was a time that the Ogallala Aquifer had an average depth of approximately 240 feet, but today the average depth is only 80 feet. In some areas of Texas, the water has already completely gone.
22 Approximately 40% of all rivers and approximately 46% of all lakes in the United States have become so polluted that they are are no longer fit for our use.
23 Because of the high cost and the inefficient use of energy, distillation is not considered to be a reasonable solution to our water problems at this time.
24 We have filled the North Pacific Ocean with 100 million tons of plastic and this is starting to have serious consequences on the marine food chain. Eventually this could mean a lot less food available from the Pacific Ocean for us.
25 One very shocking U.S. government report concluded that the global demand for water will exceed the global supply of water 40% by the year 2030.

Sadly, most of us will not take this report seriously because we can still turn on our taps and get as much fresh water as we want.

For generations, we have been taking our apparent infinite supplies of fresh water entirely for granted, but things have now changed.

We are heading into a terrible water shortage crisis unlike anything that the world has ever experienced before and at this time there does not seem to be any large scale answers capable of dealing with this crisis.

Hundreds of millions of people living in North Africa, the Middle East, India and parts of China already have to deal with extreme water shortages as part of their daily lives.
But this is just the start.
If this is ignored and left to escalate, the lack of fresh water will eventually be deeply felt by nearly everyone on the entire planet.
Arctic Blue Waters will be over the coming weeks giving more details into the 25 facts on the water crisis so that you have a wider view on how it will and is affecting our planet.

Arctic Blue Waters can safely provide pure Arctic water in bulk and can transport it by food-grade ships to China for bottling hygienically for distribution to the retail market.
Arctic Blue Waters is seeking a major beverage manufacturer/distributor in China that would consider bottling our Arctic bulk water from Alaska. The bottling plant of this firm should be within 100 km of water storage tanks located at the Humen Sea Port, Dogguan, China. The raw pure Arctic bulk water could be transported in food-grade tanks by truck from the storage tanks at the port to the bottling plant.
